APPLICATION FOR 2026-2027
Step 2: Await a Decision
Families will be notified of their student’s application status by no later than February 24, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. The following outcomes for an application are possible:
Standard Acceptance:
If student capacity has not been reached, all applications submitted by February 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. will be accepted. Applications received after this date will be accepted on a rolling basis until all seats are filled.
Lottery (If Needed):
If applications exceed available seats, all applications submitted by the February 17, 2026 deadline will be entered into a blind lottery held on February 24, 2026. Student names will be randomly drawn to fill available spots, with remaining applicants placed on a waitlist in the order drawn.
Families will be notified of their application status within 24 hours of the lottery and must promptly confirm their spot.
Step 3: Enroll
After receiving notification of acceptance, you will be invited to complete the enrollment package, which will include items such as health forms, transcripts, proof of residency, and other relevant documents. Submitting the enrollment forms in a timely manner will secure your student’s spot at Cedar Rapids Prep. Until these forms are received, your student is not officially enrolled at Cedar Rapids Prep. Lack of prompt paperwork, will result in forfeiting your spot.

Get an Inside Look At the Bison Spirit!
Our 7th grade student, Presley Soukup, and her family were able to attend Governor Reynold`s Condition of the State speech, as her guests this week. During the speech, Governor Reynold`s praised Cedar Rapids Prep for providing an option for families seeking academic excellence and a safe learning environment.
Thank you to the Soukup family for representing our school at the capital. 🦬

Our students got an amazing look at an Optometry Career with visiting expert Allison Atkinson! She packed her visit with everything from the steps to become an optometrist and different career options, to detailed eye anatomy and common eye diseases. The best part? Students got hands-on experience trying out the specialized equipment she uses! Thank you, Dr. Atkinson, for giving our students such a clear vision of this STEM career!

Making math mastery fun! Our 7th-grade students engaged in a dynamic circumference scavenger hunt designed to review the formula and celebrate the season. Students were actively practicing two essential skills: identifying the correct measurement (radius or diameter) and accurately applying the circumference formula at each station. This is how we keep learning rigorous and engaging at CR Prep!
Success tastes like pizza! 🍕 Students who CRUSHED their projected Growth Goals celebrated with a pizza and soda party! We are so proud of our students and the incredible academic growth they are making. Keep setting those goals high, Bisons!
We’ve had some great mentors stop by lately! Our students received a massive dose of real-world STEM exposure, learning about drone technology from both public safety and private industry experts! The Iowa State Troopers presented on the new drone technology they are using and flew the drones for the kids. We also welcomed Wiz and Brian from Fantasy Drone, who were impressed by the students’ questions. Thank you to all our community partners for these incredible experiences!
Taking our skills to the courtroom! Our students participated in the Mock Trial Regional Competition in Waterloo, where they applied real-world skills in a hands-on legal scenario. From preparing witnesses to presenting arguments, they did an AMAZING job! This is how Cedar Rapids Prep prepares students for leadership and success.
