Our Bad Pickle Club (Badminton/Pickleball Club) held an exciting intersquad tournament this past week! It was great to see our Bisons competing, having fun, and staying active together on the court.
Our Bison Robotics season came to a fantastic close at the Regional Robotics Match at Vets Coliseum! Our students put their engineering and teamwork skills to the test through several challenges. The team learned invaluable lessons and had a lot of fun together. We are so proud of their dedication and the “growth mindset” they brought to the arena!
Wishing a happy National School Counselors Week to our very own, Katie Sorgenfrey!
Mrs. Sorgenfrey listens with compassion, guides with wisdom, and advocates with heart. Her support helps CRP students believe in themselves, navigate challenges, and dream bigger every day. Thank you for being a steady light in our school — our students are stronger because of you!
What a great inaugural year! Through every match, our Bisons displayed a beautiful intensity, working together as a unified team on the court. Our players loved meeting new people and learning how to become better teammates while building a brand-new team from the ground up. Way to go, Bisons! 🏀

Our Flight and Space students celebrated the end of their semester with a delicious hands-on project by making Astronaut Pudding together. This fun activity gave our young scientists a taste of how astronauts live and eat while in space. It was a wonderful way to wrap up their explorations of flight and orbit.
Mrs. Sherard’s Robotics class recently held their final project presentations! It was amazing to see the thought process behind each robot and hear what the groups learned and overcame together.
Great job to all our student innovators!
Cedar Rapids Prep`s first semester is in the books! We held conferences this week to connect with students and families to review their progress throughout the first half of the year. Every conversation has reminded our team how amazing CR Prep really is.
A huge "Thank You" to the Mather family, who provided a delicious lunch and gifts for our staff during Wednesday`s conferences. Each staff member received a Bison tote, an individually customized bag tag, and goodies to put inside! These genuine partnerships between the staff and families are what make Cedar Rapids Prep a true intersection of Joy & Excellence!
We had an incredible experience as @simulation.in.motion.iowa brought their high-tech mobile simulation lab to Cedar Rapids Prep!
Our students had the unique opportunity to train with advanced medical mannequins that can actually blink, breathe, sweat, and talk. Our students did great as they practiced critical life-saving steps through a realistic emergency simulation.

Standing Ovation for “The Murder was Staged!” 🎭
Our Cedar Rapids Prep students were absolutely incredible on stage! Under the expert direction of Director Childs, our young actors delivered a performance that was poised, confident, and highly entertaining.
It was wonderful to see our students showcase their theatrical talents and hard work in this production. Two big thumbs up to the entire cast and crew for a successful show!

Our 7th grade student, Presley Soukup, and her family were able to attend Governor Reynold`s Condition of the State speech, as her guests this week. During the speech, Governor Reynold`s praised Cedar Rapids Prep for providing an option for families seeking academic excellence and a safe learning environment.
Thank you to the Soukup family for representing our school at the capital. 🦬
