Fine Arts & Electives

Students want and deserve real options. Cedar Rapids Prep students have at least two elective periods every day to explore interests, build skills, and round out a challenging academic core.

Honors STEM Program

Students with qualifying scores may be offered placement in Cedar Rapids Prep’s Honors STEM Program—a selective track for students ready for accelerated math and science.

In Honors STEM, students will:

Follow an advanced pathway to Calculus and college-level math
Complete a rigorous sequence of AP science courses
Learn in a cohort of peers committed to the demands of STEM

As a member of our founding high school class, your student isn’t joining something untested. They’re stepping into a school built by experienced leaders who have helped build and lead some of the top schools and organizations in the country.

Cedar Rapids Prep represents a new and stronger way to do high school:

Accelerated coursework in math and science, including a strong AP sequence
A senior year built around a required Senior Thesis & Capstone
A college counseling course where every student completes at least seven college applications and earns at least two best-fit acceptances
Real independence through internships, independent study, and/or college coursework
A four-year advisory model so students stay with the same advisor and cohort
Support rooted in relationships, not files—we know our students and families well
