The newly renovated Edgewood Pointe Towers is a premier learning environment that supports our commitment to academic excellence and active learning. The intentional design and creation of this space allows us to deliver a college prep experience that is unparalleled in the area.

While operating from the Edgewood Pointe Towers, students will have access to the turf field, peripheral grass fields, and tennis courts being developed on the permanent campus. All of our facilities reflect our dedication to educational and extracurricular excellence, and our commitment to the greater Cedar Rapids community.

Classrooms
Cedar Rapids Prep classrooms are designed to prioritize active and engaged learning, helping students cultivate the mindset, essential habits, and skills to succeed in school and beyond. Features include retractable walls allowing for cross-curricular learning, furniture that enables seamless collaboration opportunities, and common spaces for individual support and exploration.

Science tables are a primary feature within common spaces. These 84-inch tables create opportunities for students to engage in virtual science experiences that are typically reserved for advanced high school courses. Labs are designed to align with student interest and drive ownership.

Student Union
Our commitment to providing an unrivaled college prep experience is reflected throughout our classrooms, extracurricular spaces, and commons areas.

Our student union reflects a college-level space with various seating options that can be used throughout the day, supporting student empowerment and ownership. The design provides opportunities for all learning styles, including individual work and collaboration. This space also integrates several STEM features, including a full length hydroponic wall for growing fruits and vegetables.

Cedar Rapids Prep is building a state-of-the-art campus on the corner of Edgewood Road and 42nd Street. This location, consistently identified as a premier space in the Cedar Rapids community, is ideal for a school rooted in academic excellence. Students will have access to classrooms and college-level lab spaces that promote active learning and student ownership. Common areas will reflect the student unions commonly found on college campuses, while athletic facilities and extracurricular spaces will demonstrate our commitment to excellence in all facets of the educational process.

Our Labs
Through the exploration of coding and robotics, flight and space, human body systems, and more, our middle school electives fuel each student’s passion for discovery. Students engage in hands-on, collaborative problem solving focused on real-world challenges. They use and stretch their imaginations in new ways as they connect their learning to life. And, throughout this process, students explore a variety of career opportunities – a crucial experience during this transitional time in their lives.

Each of our STEM electives helps students build their knowledge and skills in areas, such as computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. In addition, students are empowered to develop essential skills, including problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.
